About Joy
For years Joy moved through the world in patterns she couldn't explain. She would shape shift to fit — a phrase she coined to describe someone who becomes whatever someone else needs them to be for connection, even when that connection cost her everything. Carrying everyone else's weight while neglecting her own. Giving what she needed. Rescuing when she needed rescuing.
It was exhausting. But it's not a character flaw. It was what trauma does. It was how trauma responds.
It wasn't until 2014 that everything changed. Joy made a deal with God — get me out of this, and I will serve you. He did. And she kept her word.
What followed was years of healing — just her and Jesus, in a quiet space, while He surfaced everything she had buried and forgotten. Everything her trauma had caused her brain to dissociate from.
By 2019, she knew her full story. By 2023, she was whole enough to share it.
To reach the people living in shame, fear, and hiding behind their traumatic experiences. The ones who believe they are too broken to be loved. That what happened to them — and what they did to survive — is too perverse, too depraved to receive the love of God.
She knows that feeling. Personally. And she knows it isn't true.
Most people in the healing space live in one lane. Joy lives at the place where all three meet — because that intersection is where her own healing happened.
She knows the science — how trauma rewires the brain, how dissociation protects, how the nervous system stores what the conscious mind cannot hold. But she translates it into human language, because her audience doesn't need a lecture. They need to understand themselves.
An advanced facilitator trained through the Trauma Healing Institute and the American Bible Society, Joy facilitates healing groups nationally and internationally — built specifically for the people who don't fit traditional constructs. No performance required.
Her audience includes people who have been wounded by the church, left the church, or never found their way to it. Joy speaks Scripture and Spirit without the institutional language that distances the people who need the message most.
Joy believes that everyone has a story, and that story is meant to be told. Our stories become the framework — the scaffolding of our restoration — but they can only do their work when we feel safe enough to share them. Safety is not created with words alone. It is felt in the body. When safety is embodied, story begins to flow. And when story is shared in community, healing begins.
Ascribe was created out of that conviction — that every person deserves more than survival. They deserve to understand their story, reclaim their identity, and move forward. Not just cope.
Ascribe Healing Hub's mission is to help people recover from trauma and loss — finding hope, healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation — and equipping them with tools that promote resilience. Adaptable and accessible. At every life stage.

Award-winning orator whose gift is not in performance — it is in presence. She speaks to the ones others can't reach. Available for keynotes, facilitation, and leadership training across conferences and seminars, women's ministries, healing groups and retreats, and curriculum implementation.
An ed-tech architect building human-centered decision and dignity tools for middle school students — Joy's upstream intervention. Built on her trademark Internal First Architecture, her tool uses a moral-ethical decision-making framework to build whole, healthy students from the inside out. Not behavior modification. Identity formation — before the patterns set, before the fog takes hold, before a child learns to shape-shift-to-fit.
Christian News Correspondent — addressing the practices and beliefs the church has absorbed from the culture that cause harm and orphan thinking. Through investigative reporting and prophetic insight, Joy names what has entered the faith quietly, bringing awareness to the syncretic element with clarity and gentle correction. The delivery is news. The source is revelation. The goal is restoration.
Most of what gets called a disorder is actually an adaptation.
The ways your mind found to survive what happened to you are not your identity.
They are not permanent. And they are not the end of your story.
You can overcome anything. You are not your diagnosis. You are not your childhood. You are not the sum of what was done to you. Healing is possible. For everyone. Including you.
"No matter how broken you are, you can find hope, healing and wholeness. I am committed to helping you make whole the shattered pieces of your life."
